It’s 3901 long kilometres from my original home in Perth, Western Australia to Merimbula.
Almost three years ago, a desire for the cliched fresh air and country life saw my wife, Emily and I sell our house and pack our then 2 year old and 4 year old into the 4WD, hitch up the trailer and head across the expanse of this great land.
Our destination? Unknown.
What we did know was that we wanted the best for ourselves and our kids. We love the outdoors and wanted to find an amazing natural environment to share that love. We wanted the country friendliness and ‘can do’ attitude that I remembered as a child growing up in rural WA. We wanted surf, mountains, lakes, rivers, mountain bike singletrack and great coffee. OK, maybe it was just me into the singletrack and coffee!
And we have found all that and more on the beautiful Sapphire Coast.
So this blog will consist of some words and pictures from me, a working father of two. I’m getting older, I’m pretty time limited, but I’m still up for seeking adventure in our wonderful natural playground. Whether it’s a short walk with the family or a mini adventure when I have a few hours spare, there are so many fantastic places to explore.
I hope my musings gives you some inspiration to get out there!
